Meet the Enable Board

Hi, I’m Shane and the CEO of Enable. I’ve been with this business since 2007 when I joined to help the original founder to retire. I became the Managing Director in 2012 and then led a management buy-out (MBO) in 2020.
I have a very personal relationship with this business. I feel like everything we do reflects me and my standards on some level. I hope your experience with our company as a staff member, client or supplier, is a positive one during which you feel cared for and is an experience I can be proud of.
I am a simplistic person; I believe in doing things right and doing them well. I believe that I will never stop learning and improving myself and my businesses. I put my everything into the success of this company.
Family and health are also important to me. As well as my extended family at Enable Group, I have a young family at home whom I adore.

Hi, I’m Dan Wiscombe, I am a board director at Enable where I lead the Preconstruction team at Enable Infrastructure alongside being the director responsible for safety. I am also the Managing Director of Enable Design.
My career started when leaving school at 16 and was placed on a YTS scheme with Balfour Beatty, where I worked up from the tools over a 30-year period to the board director level. During that time, I have worked for some large Infrastructure companies dedicated to some large projects such as CTRL, Crossrail HS2 and Forth Road Bridge.
I joined Enable in 2017 as Operations Director and later, in 2020, joined the MBO buyout led by Shane.
I am passionate about construction and take pride in building teams and developing an organisational structure to allow people to deliver effectively. Safety and Quality are at the heart of what drives me and my teams.
I am excited about the current evolution of Enable and committed to working with my fellow board members to continue to drive growth across the group.

Hi, I’m Stuart, the Chief Operating Officer of Enable and the Managing Director of Enable Hire & Enable Welfare. I am a degree-qualified chartered construction manager with a background in quantity surveying, commercial management, project management and leadership. I originate from York and currently reside in Essex with my family.
I love my broad role in our group which includes a focus on leadership and our internal operations, from developing new business prospects and opportunities to optimising processes and procedures.
Having joined Enable in 2015, I became a director in 2016 and have since relished work such as the restructuring of our commercial and procurement functions, the introduction of a new ERP system, founding Enable Hire and being part of the MBO.
Our leadership team has created a very exciting and rewarding culture within our group centred around our values that have created an environment for people to thrive.
Outside of work I enjoy being one of the instructors for the Brentwood Imperial Youth Band, conducting and as a musician. I am also a keen sportsman.

Hi, my name is Daniel O’Dowd, Project Delivery Director at Enable Infrastructure. I started off as a Construction Manager in 2009 and eventually arrived in my present role in 2021.
One of my main priorities and values is to ensure the people working for Enable, enjoy working for us and are happy in the workplace.
For me, our people are the most important asset we have as without we cannot operate or achieve anything. The safety and well-being of our staff are hugely important to me and the board. We want all our staff to get home safe every day and thrive in our organisation.
I’m very excited about the Enable brand and working with passionate people who want to drive the group forward into an exciting new era.
Outside work I have two young daughters and a very supportive and understanding wife. My favourite hobby is rowing where I have represented Ireland and Galway Rowing Club inclusive of winning multiple Irish titles. I was also club Captain and Rowing Director at Kingston Rowing Club.

Hi, I am Tom Foreman, the Chief Financial Officer of Enable. I joined the Group in September 2022.
I qualified as an accountant at Deloitte in 2002 and have spent 20 years in finance, in a career that has taken me around the world. I have worked in a variety of different businesses including travel companies, football clubs, computer games testing as well as construction.
I’m excited about the future of Enable – I joined because I believe the Group has the people, the opportunities and the desire to really drive forwards.
Outside of work, I am a keen badminton player, hill walker and skier – pursuits I am introducing two young children to with mixed success.

Hi, I’m Danielle and I am the People and Performance Director at Enable, which I joined in 2021 having enjoyed a multi-sector career that includes manufacturing, corporate dentistry, media, and welfare-to-work.
Collaborative environments bring out the best in me, which is why I chose to join Enable. From my early interaction with people, it was evident that engagement levels were high, and that people had a sense of ownership and wanted to define and shape their environment.
I am always interested in new ideas and ways of contributing to the success of a business; strategic innovative roles allow me to contribute to keeping teams and the organisation future fit and here at Enable I can do this. A believer in shared leadership responsibilities, I am passionate about employees, the organisation and leadership and how these define the culture and success of a business.
I live on the Kent-Sussex border in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and I consider myself very lucky to have access to the beauty of the Tuscan mountains where I have family and friends.
