Enable Infrastructure Assist Local School in Virtual Careers Day.
23 April 2021
We were approached by The Matthew Arnold School in January 2021 to ask if we could help support their event in March. This school is within 4 miles of our Feltham Resignalling project and we jumped at the opportunity to help out.
Before the lockdown on schools was lifted, Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction) played a key role in providing videos that detailed the array of careers available in the construction industry and the best avenues to get there. We know how important STEM engagement is and how we can inspire a future workforce and future leaders.
Enable Infrastructure is committed to generating social value as part of our business activities. One of our core values is that “we care about people” – this extends outside our organisation to the local communities close to where we work as we recognise the role we have to play in helping them thrive.
We were thrilled to get involved, it’s been a great way to engage our staff and we were so pleased to hear the fair was received well by students, teachers and parents.
Graeme Watts Director at the school had this to say on our contribution to the careers fair: “The videos produced by Enable Infrastructure for our virtual careers fair were really informative for our students. They highlighted the vast array of careers available to students in the construction sector. The feedback from our students was really positive with many considering a career in one of the fields. As careers advisor for the Matthew Arnold School, I am really thankful to Enable Infrastructure for all their hard work in producing these amazing resources that will be used extensively by our teachers and I look forward to working with them in the future.”
Thank you to everyone who played a key role in assuring the success of this initiative.
