Achieved after we met these organisations’ rigorous programmes of checks and audits, they are evidence of the effective processes we have in place, assuring customers of the highest standards of safety and professional service – or, in short, giving you peace of mind.

PCL – Supplier number: NR/PC/026/005

Enable Infrastructure holds a licence from Network Rail (NR) allowing us to operate as a principal contractor for both trackside and non-trackside works.  

To be awarded this principal contractor licence (PCL), organisations have to show that they have “appropriate and robust” Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) management systems which are sufficient to comply with the relevant legislation and with NR’s additional requirements. The PCL is governed by NR Standard NR/L2/INI/CP0070 v5.

The Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme – Supplier numbers: 1534 / 4633 / 5182

Enable Infrastructure, Enable Design, Enable Hire and Enable Welfare have a five-star rating with the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS).  

More than 4,000 suppliers are registered with RISQS, which was established to assist the rail industry in reaching its efficiency, safety and sustainability objectives. RISQS provides assurance that suppliers have the capabilities they claim and the processes to apply them safely, while also giving those suppliers the opportunity to demonstrate their competence and capabilities.

ISO 44001 – Supplier number: C0651

The Enable Group are proud to have been certified to ISO 44001 Collaborative Business Relationship Management. This recognises the consistent approaches to collaborative working that we have built into our systems, practices and business objectives, from top leadership commitment to recognition of the behaviours that support and encourage open and constructive working.

The cycle of collaborative working promoted by this standard creates opportunities for collaborative working with our clients, from tender stage right through to project completion and beyond.

ISO 9001 is a quality management system (QMS) standard set by the International Organization For Standardization (ISO). It aims to ensure that businesses provide high-quality products and services through the implementation of a QMS based on principles including a strong customer focus, motivation of senior management, the process approach and continual improvement. 

Companies are awarded the standard only after successfully completing a complex and thorough certification process.

ISO 14001 is an environmental management system (EMS) standard set by ISO. It maps out a framework for companies to follow to set up an effective EMS.   

By gaining the standard, organisations can provide assurance to their own management and employees and to any other stakeholders that environmental impact is being effectively measured and environmental performance improved.

ISO 45001 – Supplier number: C0651

ISO 45001 is an occupational health & safety (OH&S) management system standard set by ISO. ISO states that it is for organisations “that are serious about improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and creating better, safer working conditions”.  
 
Putting in place the standard’s OH&S system helps businesses manage their risks and improve their OH&S performance by developing and implementing effective policies and objectives.

NICEIC Approved Contractor – Certification number: 618029000

Established in 1956, the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) is the UK’s largest voluntary register of electrical businesses.  

NICEIC’s Approved Contractor scheme is for electrical contractors undertaking the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671, the national standard for electrical installation and the safety of electrical wiring.

Cyber Essentials – Supplier number: IASME-CE-029253

The National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Essentials programme is a Government-backed scheme to help protect organisations against a range of the most common cyber attacks. 

Businesses with Cyber Essentials certification have put in place technical controls designed to prevent the most common attacks. Certification provides peace of mind because the vast majority of those who perpetrate cyber attacks are looking for targets which do not have such controls.

Waste Carriers Licence – England – Licence number: CBDU111406 / Wales – Licence number: CBDU018525

Enable Infrastructure is registered as an upper tier carrier in the Environment Agency’s Registered Waste Carrier scheme.  

Upper tier carriers include businesses that carry construction and demolition waste, as well as those which transport the waste of other individuals or organisations.

British Safety Council Member – Membership number: S0391391-SE17RW

Created in 1957, the British Safety Council helps organisations registered as members to navigate legislation and manage compliance while systematically improving their health, safety and environmental standards.  

Members also provide the council with insight into workplace issues and concerns, helping with its policy activities and with Government consultations.

By protecting their identity, Confidential Reporting for Safety (CIRAS) encourages staff with concerns about health and safety in the workplace to report them. 

CIRAS member companies, such as Enable Infrastructure, are responsible businesses working in sectors such as rail, freight, bus, ports and highways who have committed themselves to acting on the information supplied in this way.

Constructionline – Membership number: 00373208

Originally established as a Government department, Constructionline today supports thousands of construction businesses in both the public and private sectors. It connects buyers with suppliers, providing members with information on a wide range of procurement contracts and giving buyers access to a validated pool of high-quality suppliers.  

Its platform aims to speed up search, validation and purchasing processes, benefiting both buyers and suppliers.

Smartwaste Membership Gold

SmartWaste is a members-only online environmental reporting tool which helps the construction industry monitor and report on areas such as waste generation and management, site waste management plans, energy and water use, sustainable timber and material supply and carbon impacts from transport. 

In addition to the environmental benefits derived from using SmartWaste, businesses can also secure financial benefits, including reduced landfill tax and lower haulage and disposal costs.

Planet Mark

Planet Mark is a sustainability certification scheme which recognises continuous improvement, encourages action and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals 

Enable Infrastructure gained the Planet Mark by reporting a reduction in its carbon footprint and by engaging its stakeholders.

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme – ID: 009623

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators, which covers safety, efficiency and environmental protection.  

The Enable Group has both silver and bronze accreditation. Enable Hire and Enable Welfare are ‘whole fleet accredited’.

Silver accreditation, like Bronze, is evidence that we use good practice and meet the FORS Standard requirements.  

FORS Silver accreditation means that we are also compliant with the Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) Standard for Construction Logistics and with Transport for London’s Work Related Road Risk (WRRR) initiative. 

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme Bronze – ID: 009623

Bronze accreditation confirms that we employ good practice and comply with the requirements laid out by the FORS Standard.  

This includes demonstrating dedication to driver and vehicle safety, combined with improving operating practices through effective monitoring of fuel and tyre usage.

Enable Hire and Enable Welfare are certified members of the Hire Association Europe (HAE).

The HAE is the leading professional trade association for the plant, tool and equipment hire industry, with more than 1,000 members across the UK and Europe. It aims to protect, support, and grow the industry, whilst safeguarding hire companies’ customers through a commitment to skills, standards and sustainability.
