Enable Infrastructure commended at the Rail Business Awards 2022
25 February 2022
On Wednesday, at the Rail Business Awards 2022, Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction) was “highly commended” in the category: ‘Rail Team of the Year’. This recognition within the industry comes after our successful design and implementation on the London Liverpool Street Station platform extensions for the Crossrail MTR Elizabeth line.
This was a multidisciplinary project that had proved too challenging for even much larger companies. But as the Principal Contractor, Enable Infrastructure, its subcontractors, and the Enable Group was able to meet the demands thanks to the skill, hard work, ingenuity, and collaboration from those involved. All of whom worked tirelessly before, during, and after two blockades to ensure the platform extensions and renovations were completed on time and to standard.
Overall, the works entailed more than over 20 suppliers, 2,000 staff across 2×10-day blockades making it no small feat, as Stewart Jackson, chief operating officer, remarked:
‘It was an exceptionally intense programme of works where the entire team rose to the challenge and successfully completed the project to ensure that future Crossrail passengers benefit from longer trains and greater transit capacity. We are delighted that our fantastic Liverpool Street station platform extension project team has been commended by the Rail Business Awards for the ‘Rail Team of the Year’ award. It is a testament to the dedication and efforts of our team, and they should feel very proud to receive such recognition.”
