Enable Infrastructure Complete Civils Element of £18m Flood Defence Scheme
4 February 2021
Enable Infrastructure (formerly known as BCM Construction) was contracted by Jacksons to construct the civil elements as well as the rail interface of the flood defence at Parsons Level Crossing on the Newhaven to Seaford line.
“We were very pleased to assist Jackson Civil Engineering in completing this vital £ 18m flood defence scheme to protect the town of Newhaven. The scheme will reduce the risk of flooding to approximately 430 homes and 390 businesses in and around the East Sussex town of Newhaven.
This was our first project working with Jacksons and we have developed relationships that we hope we can build on to help them on works in the future.
The team did excellently working in possession over the 54 hour Christmas possession to deliver a challenging and innovative project.”- Andrew Wedlake – Wales and Western Regional Manager
The project forms part of a 5-year flood defence scheme with Enable Infrastructure carrying out the final element of works which is the flood defence to the level crossing.
